Chris Malloy got into the season of giving. Way into it. Over the holidays, he launched an online fundraiser for 11 of his favorite non-profits (including Lovin’ Spoonfuls and partners Greater Boston Food Bank, Women’s Lunch Place, Rosie’s Place, and A Place To Turn). He took to Instagram, offering to match donations dollar for dollar up to $5,000 – and when the match was met, he kept going. Chris’ fundraiser ultimately raised over $68,000 in just three weeks for those causes near and dear to him.
In announcing the results of his campaign, Chris added, “Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean the need has been satisfied.”
We’re with you, Chris: Hunger and climate change don’t just happen at the holidays. Wasted food is an issue all year long!
