Rescue Food at Home

A shocking 38% of available food in the United States goes unsold or uneaten – almost 149 billion meals’ worth of food annually. That uneaten food is a missed opportunity to feed people, especially the millions experiencing food insecurity in the United States alone. It’s also a big contributor to the climate emergency (if food waste were a county it would be the third largest greenhouse gas emitter behind China and the United States) threatening the planet we call home.

Lovin’ Spoonfuls is committed to minimizing these issues by connecting still-good-to-eat food from farms, grocery stores, and wholesalers to people facing food insecurity in Massachusetts. But with 48% of all unsold and uneaten food coming from homes, we want to help you reduce household wasted food, too.
